I shall reveal the supreme hymn which could provide salvation, it is highly propitious hymn should be pronounced following austerities.”

Lord Rudra continues “I shall prostrate before the supreme Lord Hari who is the source of auspiciousness and bliss, he is all-pervasive, resides as a soul in living beings. Whoever worships that supreme Lord with intense faith and devotion, with the practice of Bhakti yoga, and following the righteous paths would get relieved from the fears of Samsara. Oh! Prabho, you are not attainable easily, the intellectuals with the supreme knowledge attain that Paramamgathi. The practice of Ananyabhakthi/intense devotion is difficult to achieve, even for the ascetics, your lotus feet are highly propitious to provide all that desired. Oh! Prabho you represent Yama who brings destruction to the Universe with a movement of your eyebrows, whoever surrendered at your lotus feet will not have the fear of death. The sincere devotion at your lotus feet is the ultimate asylum of Jeeva, it is the ultimate shelter that provides protection from the cycles of repeated births. Oh! Prabho, who resides as a soul in living beings, the meditation and singing in praise of your myths remove the impurities of the mind, the holy dip in the sacred Ganga that originated from your lotus feet purifies our hearts, and bless us to have the constant association of ascetics who have the knowledge of oneness-in-all, that would purify our mind and soul as well. The ascetics undergo extreme penances, and austerities, will not take interest in worldly matters and bondage, constantly contemplate upon you and attain Paramagathi.  Oh! Prabho, you are absolute Bhramam, all-pervasive, and independent, you are flawless and void of Karma, with the influence of your powerful Maya the creation, preservation, and destruction take place. Oh! Prabho, the Yogis conducts various rituals, several modes of worships and sings in praise of your glorious myths, but the Sadhus who realize your nature as supreme soul reside in them, and you are the cause for the functioning of sense organs, and in this way, they achieve highest of the piousness. Oh! Prabho, you are primeval, you represent five essential elements, Thrigunas/ Rajasik, Thamasik, and Sathvik nature, deities, Sages and all the living and non-living things as well. You represent the supreme soul in the Jeeva, you are supreme Purusha and reside as the supreme soul in the Jeeva, takes great pleasure like a honey bee from the flowers, you cause deluge at the end of the Kalpa and absorb them all. The Jeeva soaked in material welfare and bondage, will not understand the nature of the supreme soul, meet their destruction at the end like the serpent swallow its prey. Oh! Prabho, you are worshiped by Lord Bhrama, deities, Manu, Rishis, and Sages, hence the learned one has the knowledge that keeping away from the worship at your lotus feet would heave in extreme agony and afflictions. Oh! Prabho, you are supreme Bhramam, Paramathma, free from afflictions, we are surrendering at your lotus feet, kindly remove our fear and anxieties of worldly existence.”

Lord Rudra speaks “ Oh! Nripanandhana, I have narrated the most auspicious hymns to you, the recitation of these hymns and performance of Swadharma, and take shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Hari to attain Paramamgathi.”

Chapter – 77 – The legend of Varaha

Nishamya Kausharanavinopavarnnitham  Hare: Katham Karana Sookarathmana: | Puna: Sa  Papraccha  Thamudhyathanjalirnachathi Thriptho Vidhuro Dhrithavratha: ||

Mahamoha, Moha, Tamas, causes due to ignorance, eventually it creates interest in worldly matters and bondage, it enhances over-dependency on people, materials, and matters, in this way, the Jeeva  leaving all the happiness fastened with the destructible Prakrithi and people, without the knowledge of the supreme Lord who is beyond ‘Time’ resides as the soul in Jeeva. The noble souls, intellectuals, Rishis, and Sages, lives in a perpetual bliss with the practice of constant contemplation upon that supreme soul which is beyond ‘Time’, and with the knowledge of the ‘Prakrithi’, people, wealth, matters, possessions, richness, fame, etc. has destructible nature and they take shelter in indestructible Bhramam. The knowledge ‘self’ can be attained only with the grace of preceptors and the supreme Lord, association with the saintly people and ascetics, the practice of meditation, etc.  The Prakrithi/people undergo constant transformation and ruin; hence the absolute truth is that it cannot provide eternal bliss, any action that disturbs the nature of Prakrithi would cause mass destruction, the river has the tendency to flow freely, if it is halted by building blocks around it, would cause massive destruction and endless miseries like natural calamities to human lives.

There are three types of Yajja, known as Karma Yajja, Japa Yajja, and Gnana Yajja.   Karmayajja is the performance of fire sacrifices and various religious and spiritual rites; it purifies the atmosphere and brings the doer closer to the supreme Lord, service to preceptor and devotees of the Lord, service to the society, etc.  In the Krita Yuga there were no impurities in the hearts of the people lived, so they conducted extreme Tapasya and contemplated upon supreme Lord. In the Thretha Yuga, there were impurities appeared in the minds of people, and began to worship the Lord by Yajja/fire sacrifices.  In the Dwapara Yuga, the impurities in the minds of the people have increased, therefore they began to conduct the worship of idols with the Tantric rites/Kriya Yoga.   In the Kali era, the impurities in the minds of people have multiplied, people have grown too selfish and self-centered,  the interest in religious and spiritual rites has reduced considerably, although the elevation of the soul is possible with the mere recitation of names of the Supreme Lord and contemplation upon him. In the Kali era, the purities of ingredients used for the worship of Lord and performance of sacrifices has lost its purity, people lost purity in the practice, and the purity of the place has become almost zero, hence the contemplation upon the supreme Lord with the recitation of sacred names and Namasankeerthan considered as superior yajja/  Shabdhayajja/JapaYajja. All these Yajja have one message to convey, surrender the mind and intellect to the supreme Lord which is the origin of Jeeva/soul, it is the process of elevation of the soul with the knowledge of GnanaYajja/ knowledge of ‘self’. It is impossible to achieve Mukthi/liberation without them, it is impossible to attain liberation by simply taking a dip in Theertha and performing rites, without the knowledge of ‘self’. The three Yajjas is known as Karma Yajja/serving Lord and devotees of Lord, serving nature and all the creatures selflessly, Japa Yajja/recitation of sacred names of Lord and readings scriptures, etc. and Gnana Yajja/reading and listening to the scriptures and spreading the knowledge of the indestructible nature of the supreme the soul would lead a Jeeva to the path of Mukthi. Therefore the Kali era is considered as highly fortunate era, the elevation of souls is possible with the easiest method of recitation of sacred names and listening to the glorious legends of the supreme Lord and being in the association of ascetics and saintly people.  The Jeevas who took birth in the Krita, Thretha, and Dwaparayuga highly praised the Kali era and expressed their desire to be born in this Kali era as well.  The Prapancha expanded from the ‘Sound’ and it has the power to purify the atmosphere, the constant friction of two objects causes fire and forms, and the forms bear the name to identify. Therefore the sound of recitation of Veda and scriptures purifies the atmosphere/Shabdha Bhramam, in abundance.  The constant meditation and recitation of scriptures and sacred names of Lord reduce the mental afflictions, sorrows, miseries, and grief of worldly existence.

Vidura speaks to Maitreya “Oh! Mune, I have heard the glorious legend of supreme Lord who incarnated as Yajjavaraha and killed the demon Hiranyaksha and elevated Mother Earth from the bottom of the ocean. Oh! Mahamune, kindly describe them in detail.”

Sage Maitreya speaks “Oh! Vidura, there are endless glories and various amusements of the supreme Lord, and narrating about them would provide immense bliss, hence I shall describe them in detail. I have heard of a legend that was narrated by Bhrama to the deities. Dhithi, who was the daughter of Daksha married to Sage Kashyapa Prajapathi.  One day, it was during the evening hours, Dhithi approached the Sage Kashyapa who was performing the sun worship, fire sacrifice, and engaged in meditation in the Yagnashala. Dhithi appealed to the Sage “Oh! Swami, I am tormented with the cupid arrows of Kamadeva, kindly satisfy my needs and it is your duty to fulfill my desires, and bless me with a child.” Sage Kashyapa Prajapathi advised his wife, it is not an appropriate time to satisfy her needs, and he highly appreciated the role of women in the life of men and advised her to wait after the evening hours. He explained to her that it is not a suitable hour to have physical relationships, it is the hour to worship Lord Bhoothanatha who mounted on the celestial bull and roam with his spirits. Devi Dhithi could not control the pain of arrows of cupid, lost her sense and with an extreme yearning, she pulled the upper clothes of Sage Kashyapa.

Chapter – 76 – The legend of Lord Krishna – The legend of Varaha

Namo Namasthe  Akhila Manthra  Devatha Dhravyaya  Sarvakrathave  Kriyathmane | Vairagya Bhakthyathma Jayanu Bhavithajjanaya Vidhyagurave  Namo Nama: ||

The Varaha carried Mother Earth on its sharp protruding teeth was blocked by a demon Hiranyaksha. The Varaha rip opened the demon with its sharp teeth, like lion attacks the elephant.  The Varaha placed the Mother Earth on its protruding teeth and majestically stood before the deities and Rishis.  They eulogized the supreme Lord Vishnu who has assumed the form of Yajjavaraha.

Rishis eulogized the supreme Lord Yajja Varaha “ Oh! Bhagavan, who symbolizes the Veda, all-pervasive, Oh! Sookarathma, it is difficult to understand your incarnation as Varaha, the projecting bodily hairs, skin, ears, and all those body parts represent the various ingredients of a Yajja, Chandhass, Vedic chants, etc. an ignorant cannot understand it.  Each and every limb of your body is the part of Yajja and the ingredients of Yajja. Oh! Bhagavan, you are the essence of Veda and Vedantha, you represent fire sacrifices, you are the creator of Universe and its living beings, you are supreme Preceptor who imparts Bhakti, Gnana, Vairagya. Oh! Bhagavan, you symbolize supreme preceptor who imparts wisdom and knowledge, we shall repeatedly prostrate before you. Oh! Bhagavan, we shall prostrate before the Lord Varaha who elevated the Mother Earth from the bottom of the ocean. Oh! Bhagavan, you have performed a huge task of elevation of Mother Earth from the bottom of the ocean in the form of Varaha, and you are the only one capable to do it, it is difficult to understand for the ordinary souls, we shall prostrate before that Lord  Yajja Varaha. ” Soon, the Varaha disappeared from the sight Rishis and Sages.  Whoever listens or recite to this glorious manifestation of the supreme Lord Vishnu as Yajja Varaha, and contemplate upon the supreme Lord who resides as a soul/Guhashaya with Ananyabhakthi, would attain Paramamgathi.

The Supreme Lord Vishnu incarnated as Yajjavaraha, the Yajja symbolizes the sacrificial rites conducted for the welfare of the Universe and its living beings, and it is a collective deed for the welfare of the Universe. The collective deeds in the Prapancha/Prakrithi is the source of the wellbeing of the living creatures on the Earth, the five essential elements such as Earth, Air, Ether, water and fire, mind, intellect and Ahamkara is collectively called Prakrithi, which is the prime source of life on Earth contributes to the existence of living and non- living things.  The human body undergoes constant transformation, with the collective effort of the sense organs and internal organs. The human body absorbs vital air, water, food, and allocates them into the various organs and this methodical processes result in growth in human, therefore the nature of Prakrithi is a collective effort, in the sense, the human beings absorb the Pranavayu/oxygen from the Prakrithi and exhale carbon dioxide for the plants to grow and this process continues without any hindrance, represents Yajja/Karma.  The Jeeva forgets the presence of  the supreme soul in it,  who is the cause for the function of the Karma, Gnana Indhriyas, mind and intellect; eventually get attached to worldly matters and bondage causes grief and endless miseries. The Yajja Varaha incarnation of Lord Vishnu symbolizes the collective effort of assimilation and distribution takes place in the Prakrithi like the ocean water vaporizes comes down as rainwater on the Earth.

Chapter – 75 – The legend of Lord Krishna – The legend of Varaha

Ithyabhi Dhyayatho Nasa Vivarath Sahasanagha | Varahathoko Nirgadhangushta Parimanaka: ||

Maharishi Maitreya speaks “ Oh! Vidura, Lord Bhrama received the knowledge of Chathushloki Bhagavatham from Adi Narayana and began the creation. Thus, the process of creation starts from ‘Papeeya Shrishti’ consists of Mahamoha/creatures with the lack of knowledge of ‘self’, Moha/’I’/body consciousness/misconception, Thamas/ ignorance followed with attachments on people and wealth, and Agnanavriththi/disappointments and grief. Lord Bhrama contemplated upon Lord Adi Narayana, and refused to conduct the ‘Papeeya Shrishti’.  He desired to create Jeeva that does not forget the presence of the supreme Lord in it.  Thus Lord Bhrama created illustrious Sanaka, Sanandhan, Sanathkumara and Sanathana who are the supreme ascetics. Lord Bhrama advised them to create Prajas, but they were refused to follow the instruction and conducted extreme penance. It created frustration in Lord Bhrama, a unique Jeeva that appeared from the middle of his eye-brows, was named ‘Rudra’ and distributed places for him to reside and instructed to perform creation. Rudra created fierce creatures; Lord Bhrama intervened and requested to stop the creation. Further, Lord Bhrama created Saptha Rishis,  1) Mareechi, 2) Athri, 3)Angirass, 4) Pulasthya, 5) Pulaha, 6) Krathu, and 7)Bhrigu and after that Rishi Vashishta,  Prajapathi Daksha, Maharishi Narada, and Kardhama Prajapathi who was created out of his shadow. In this way, Lord Bhrama created Saptha Rishis and illustrious Dhaksha, Narada and Kardhama from his limbs were not willing to conduct creation. Lord Bhrama became disappointed to witness the lack of Praja, Lord Bhrama decided to create the Jeeva with Mahamoha/Jeeva that forgets the presence of the supreme Lord in it. Thus he has created Swayambhuva Manu and Devi Shatharoopa, eventually, they got attracted to each other, believed comforts in each other. In this way, Jeeva with the influence of Mahamoha forgot the presence of the Supreme Lord as soul, and get attached to the people and wealth, material comforts, etc. without the knowledge of impermanent nature of it. Lord Bhrama felt extremely happy at the creation of Swayambhuva Manu and Devi Shatharoopa, with the expectation that these two would enhance the creation in the Universe. Swayambhuva Manu with folded hands prostrated before Vedagarbha/Lord Bhrama and enquired his father where to keep all his creation.  Lord Bhrama was highly pleased with this couple, advised them to expand the Praja and please Lord Hrishikesh. Manu spoke “Oh! Thatha, where do we keep the creation? The Earth is under the ocean, without elevating the Earth, how could we expand the Praja?” Lord Bhrama felt disappointed and contemplated upon Lord Vishnu, soon a thump sized Varaha initiated from his nose.  Lord Bhrama stunned while watching it assumed a huge size, soon the Saptharishis and Sanakadhis arrived, the Varaha produced huge oink, the Rishis and Sages understood it is none other than Yajjaswaroopa. The Varaha enthusiastically expanded its huge body, raised it tail, and reshuffled its bodily hairs. It looked all over the water, and found the Mother Earth in the bottom of the water. It shoved its huge body into the water, propelled the two sharp protruding teeth, elevated Mother Earth with it, and brought her into the surface of the water.

Chapter – 74 – The legend of Lord Krishna – The legend of King Pareekshith

Vidura Maithreya Samvadham

Maharishi Maitreya speaks “Oh! Vidura, the supreme Lord who is the creator of the Universe and its living beings of diversified nature, expanded all those creatures that are already merged in him, all those creatures are different from each other, therefore it is impossible to compare them with one another.  Oh! Vidura, all those creatures are beyond comparison so it is meaningless to take pride in the possessions or lament over the absence of all those material matters or bondages, without realizing the presence of the supreme soul in it.  Oh! Vidura, the knowledge of ‘self’ can be achieved with the practice of meditation and association with the ascetics and saintly people, it helps to get rid of redundant thoughts; it removes the attachments on worldly matters and bondage, which has destructible nature and focus the mind on the supreme Lord who is eternal.  The human mind and intellect has immense potential to elevate the soul from the destructible Prakrithi to the indestructible Purusha. Oh! Vidura, the extreme adversities in life caused due to the presence of the destructible nature of Prakrithi to make the Jeeva stronger than before, with the practice of meditation and contemplation the Jeeva make an effort to come out of it, even it may fall out of the austerities it would regain the consciousness/intellect to bring back into the righteous path. Oh! Vidura, the presence of the supreme soul in us is the source of the functioning of Gnana Karmaindhriyas, mind and intellect, therefore whoever contemplates upon that supreme soul who is eternal and changeless remain serene always.”

Maharishi Maitreya continues “Oh! Vidura, all those functions in this Universe and its living beings are based on ‘Time’, the slightest particles of Paramanu keep traveling due to the influence of ‘Time’, therefore it is addressed as ‘Kalachakram’, the supreme Lord who is beyond ‘time’ is the cause for the movement of this ‘Kalachakram’.  Due to the constant influence of this ‘Kalachakra’ the human body undergoes transformation and ruin; therefore overindulgence on the perishable nature body causes grief in Jeeva.  The human body has to undergo aging, illnesses and death, hence, the Rishis and Sages strongly recommended the practice of mind and intellect from the destructible nature of the Prakrithi/body, wealth, richness, fame, people, etc. to the indestructible supreme Lord.  Oh! Vidura, The practice of mind and intellect that has already wedged in the material world and bondage, to the supreme soul is known as ‘Sadhana’/meditation; in this way, Jeeva can elevate their soul into a state of bliss.”

Chapter – 73 – The legend of Lord Krishna – The legend of King Pareekshith

Indhriyas eulogizes the Supreme Lord

Namamathe  Devapadharavindham  Prapanna Thapopashamathapathram | Yanmoolaketha Yathayonjjasoru Samsaradhukham Bahiruthkshipanthi ||

Maharishi Maitreya speaks “ Oh! Vidura, the Ahamkara originated from the Mahath Thaththva/Sthoola and Sookshmashreera, the Gnana, and Karmaindhriyas came into light and the expansion of the Universe took place.  All those Gnana Karmaindhriyas/deities eulogized the supreme Lord. “ Oh! Bhagavan, you are the destroyer of all the afflictions of worldly existence, you are the creator, preserver, and destroyer of the Universe and its living beings, and hence you are the ultimate asylum for the Jeeva. Oh! Bhagavan, you are the sole protector of Jeeva from the Thapathraya/Adibhauthika, Adhidheivika and Adhyathmika Thapa.  The three kinds of afflictions are one is related to body/aging, illnesses, and death, the second one is grief caused by the attachment to wealth, fame, money, richness, etc. and the third one is grief caused by the worldly bondage/attachment to people.  The people who are surrendered and took shelter at your lotus feet would remain protected and free from grief always.  Oh! Bhagavan, the intellectuals and illustrious Rishis, conducted a thorough search and composed various scriptures on it, whoever reroute their mind and intellect, and take shelter on the pathways of those Rishis and Sages, would destroy the accumulated sins and grief, eventually, the Jeeva gets purified and move closer to the supreme abode. Oh! Bhagavan, whoever listens to the endless glories of you, with the intense devotion and faith, understands the greatest knowledge of ‘self’, with the constant practice of meditation and contemplation which is the sole cure to get rid of redundant thoughts, in this way they elevate their souls.  Oh! Bhagavan, the Jeeva who is completely soaked in ‘body consciousnesses, wealth, possessions, and people, which has impermanent nature,/Prakrithi/cosmic nature/ makes them drive far away from you and they remain ignorant always. Bhagavan, the noble soul’s abandon the worldly living, seek shelter in caves or hermitage, and undertake extreme austerities and contemplate upon you.  The Grahashrami with the intense devotion and faith, undertake the constant practices of meditation and contemplation, attains the purity of the mind.  Oh! Chapter – 72 – The legend of Lord Krishna – The legend of King Pareekshith

Vidura Maithreya Samvadham

Athathey Bhagavan Leela Yogamayorubhrimhitha: | Vishwa Sthithyudh Bhavantharththa Varnnayamyanupoorvasha: || Bhagavan Yeka Asedhamagra Athanathamanam Vibhu: | Athmethcchanugathavathma Nanamathyupalakshana: ||

Shukha Bhramam speaks “ Oh! Rajan, Vidura reverentially prostrated before Maharishi Maitreya and took a seat near him, and enquired”

Vidura speaks “Oh! Mahamune, the Jeeva performs various Karma seeking sensual pleasure or material welfare, unfortunately, they fail to achieve happiness, did not get rid of sorrows, and on the other hand, it increases day by day. Oh! Bhagavan, Kindly, describe the reason for it.  The Jeeva constantly searching for material pleasure and well-being, keeping away from Lord Janardhana, keeping away from the righteous deeds or activities, keeping the mind idle with a cluster of redundant thoughts, kindly describe how did we fix our mind and intellect upon supreme Lord and enhance devotion. I have heard of various incarnations of supreme Lord, who expanded this Universe and its living beings, and performed various amusements, kindly elaborate them. Oh! Vipravarya, the supreme Lord is all-pervasive, represents living and non-living things, and performs various deeds, kindly describe all those.  Maharishi Vedavyasa pointed out all the endless struggles of  Jeeva, I think reading and following all those scriptures composed by him would clear all the miseries and sorrows of worldly existence.  Whoever contemplates upon the supreme Lord Hari, and keep focusing on reciting and reading the scriptures would get rid of all the afflictions of worldly existence.  Whoever keeps shoveling them into the grief and sorrows will become helpless to unload their burden.  Those who do not contemplate or meditate upon the Supreme Lord, or not fixing their mind and intellect on the glorious scriptures, would face mercilessly death after leading a meaningless life, with the influence of ‘Time’. Oh! Bhagavan, the constant chase of ‘Time’ from the moment of birth, throughout the life and end of the Jeeva should be taken seriously, therefore every moment in the life of Jeeva is precious,  I think wise use of the life span listening to endless glorious of Lord Hari, keeps the Jeeva from the futile debate.”

Maharishi Maitreya speaks “ Oh! Vidura, you have raised a brilliant question about the constant miseries and sorrows in the life of Jeeva, I shall elaborately describe the reason for the constant unhappiness of Jeeva after performing various deeds. Oh! Vidura, you are a fortunate one, born in an illustrious clan, the supreme Lord Krishna instructed me to advise you with the highest of the philosophies to you. I sincerely express my gratitude to that supreme Lord for giving me an opportunity to enlighten you with the supreme knowledge. Oh! Vidura, the mind, and intellect cause grief due to the redundant thoughts; therefore it should put into practice how to get rid of them with the purified thoughts. Oh! Vidura, I have already described the origin of the Universe and its living beings, initially, there was the supreme Lord Adi Narayana that existed before the creation. The mind and intellect were manifested from the supreme Lord, all that creatures were expanded with the Icchashakthi of that supreme Lord.   The mind and intellect are under the influence of Maya, an intelligent one contemplates upon the ‘Adhokshaja’ who resides as a soul in us and get rid of the afflictions.  Oh! Vidura, the Icchashakthi, Gnanashakthi, and Kriyashakthis of supreme Lord came into open with the influence of ‘Time’, hence the ‘Time’ has a great influence on the human life and activities, the mind and intellect have the capabilities to flow with the ‘Time’ and beyond time as well.  The mind and intellect can flow beyond ‘Time’ with the practice of spirituality because the mind and intellect have originated from the supreme soul which is beyond ‘time’ and eternal.  The practice of concentrating upon the Sookshma shareera/supreme soul from the Sthoolshareera/body consciousness is spirituality.”
