The conversation between Udhdhava
and Krishna is a glorious legend reiterates the supreme knowledge that was
imparted to Arjuna in the Warfield of Kurukshetra, which was narrated persuading
Arjuna to follow his duties as a Kshatriya and to fight against his enemies.
Arjuna after listening to the marvelous teachings of Gita in the battlefield
for fifteen days, he could not control the separation of Krishna while leaving
the Dwaraka. The highest of the
knowledge was once again retold by Krishna to Udhdhava while the destruction of the entire clan of Yadhavas takes place, Krishna teaches the glorious lessons to
Udhdhava to elevate his soul from emotional breakdowns, later it helped him to
accept the Viyoga/separation of Krishna in the right manner.
Shuka Bhramam speaks “ Oh!
Rajan, Krishna took Udhdhava’s hand, embraced him, patted him affectionately and
asked him to sit close, and began to speak “Oh! Udhdhava, you are absolutely
right, the Yadava clan is on the verge
of mass destruction, and I do not want to change the destiny of them, let the
‘Time’ plays its part. It is the curse of
Mahathma, so it should happen as they have predicted. Oh! Udhdhava, I have only
one thing to narrate you, once I leave this body, the Kali era will commence. During this Kali era, the immoral deeds will
take place at its peak, therefore I shall impart the highest of the spiritual
knowledge to you for the sake of the souls in the Kali era. You should listen to me carefully, Oh!
Udhdhva, I cannot elevate your soul, it is an individual effort, and hence you
have to put effort to elevate your soul.
Therefore abandon your memories of passionate moments, love for your
people and relatives, do not abandon the people, practice contemplating upon me, believe all that took
place as the will of the Supreme Lord, and accept whatever comes as the grace of
Supreme Lord. Oh! Udhdhava, always keep your mind serene with the contemplation
upon me, and keep traveling all over the Earth spreading this greatest
knowledge. Whatever you have seen with
your eyes, whatever you have heard with your ears, whatever you have thought
all these years were destructible nature of Prakrithi, people do not
understand the destructible nature of the Prakrithi, and chase after the
material comforts, without realizing the supreme soul in them. They engage in various Karma and Vikarma,
engages their mind with the piousness and sins, goodness and evilness, and
remains ignorant. Oh! Udhdhava, you
practice to concentrate the supreme soul which resides as the soul in you,
eventually, you will come to know that the various thoughts that have fleeting
nature is vested in the mind and intellect originated from the supreme soul,
practice the mind and intellect contemplate upon the supreme soul in you,
ultimately you will come to know that the ‘Athma/soul’ is me, you will realize
my eternal presence in you. Oh! Udhdhava,
I have to discard this body like any other the living beings on the
Earth, my nature as a supreme soul never faces ruin. If you keep practicing the
Gnana that can be earned listening to the scriptures and Vignana is the practicality of the knowledge, it will free your mind from getting stuck on the
unwanted thoughts, miseries, or anxiousness, helps you attain union with the supreme soul which is none other than bliss.
This practice will not let your mind stuck in the unwanted thoughts that
takes away the serenity; ultimately you will be freed from illusion.”
